6-Step Creative Process for Successful Branding
Let’s be honest, process can be messy!
This is why having an efficient and cohesive process is absolutely necessary in any line of work. People have different working styles, making it challenging to find a universal approach. What might work for some, may not work for others.
As a designer and business owner, I’ve learned that a strong process holds equal, if not more, significance than the end results. This is why I want to share with you my 6-step creative process that has proven successful for my business and countless others. From planning and brainstorming to collaboration, creative development, and execution, I will lay out precisely how we approach each stage.
1. Strategy
The very first step of our creative process starts by getting to know you - your business, target audience, goals, long-term vision, and so much more. We do this by using our in-depth brand questionnaire. This step is crucial for developing a thoughtful strategy and purposeful creative direction. Not only does it help me get a better understanding of who you are as a brand, but my clients love it as it, forces them to dig deep within the heart and soul of their brand.
2. Visualizing
The next step is where the magic truly happens. Once we have developed a solid understanding of your brand and goals, we can start to build your brand’s visual identity. Visualizing is not just about random creativity—it requires vision. This phase flourishes within collaboration, gathering inspiration, and brainstorming.
3. Collaboration
The third step is the collaboration and initial client review. After conceptualizing and presenting visual concepts through mockups, we invite you to collaborate, provide feedback, and take part of the creative process. We value your input and use this opportunity to incorporate any adjustments or enhancements to further refine the creative direction. This stage is crucial in making sure we're on track to deliver a result that surpasses your expectations.
4. Creative Development
Now that we are fully aligned on creative direction, we’ll start transforming your vision and initial concepts into visually appealing brand elements such as a logo, color palette, typography, website, and overall aesthetic.
5. Final Revision
Next, we’ll present the final creative collateral your final review. During the final revision phase, we’ll internally review all collateral before providing you with the final concepts for your last round of feedback. We want to ensure that the developed materials accurately reflect your brand's vision.
6. Project Delivery
The final step of the process is delivery! You’ll receive a beautiful brand identity package with all your essential files. The completion of a successful project and seeing my clients LOVE the results is so rewarding. It’s a bittersweet moment finish any project. So even after your project is completed, I will always make myself available for any additional support or guidance you may need.
